From 14 to 18 June 2021, at the Teatro del Carmine in Tempio Pausania, there will be an opera singing masterclass held by Maestro Ernesto Palacio, Superintendent and Artistic Director of the “Rossini Opera Festival”.
The subject of the Masterclass will be the study of vocal and interpretative technique with a focus on the roles of Rossini’s Cinderella. The Masterclass is open to singers with no age or nationality limits. At the end of the Masterclass, singers will be selected, if deemed suitable, to be included in the debut of the roles through the Opera studio in the 2021-2022 season of the Bernardo De Muro Music Academy in semi-stage form or in concert. In addition, the actual students who are ready to perform in public (the teacher and the artistic direction will carefully evaluate the level of preparation of the student), will participate in the final concert to be held in the afternoon of June 18, 2021, at the Teatro del Carmine. The maximum number of participants for this Masterclass is 15 active students and 30 as auditors.
Conducting the Masterlcass will be Maestro Ernesto Palacio, tenor, superintendent and artistic director of the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro. Palacio was one of the most important opera singers of his generation: in his career he has performed more than 200 times on stages all over the world, sung, oratorios and masses. He has recorded forty titles, ten of which are Rossini’s works. Ernesto Palacio has performed in the main international theaters (La Scala, Accademia di Santa Cecilia and Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Arena di Verona, La Fenice, Metropolitan and Carnegie Hall, Covent Garden, Liceu, Colon, Zurich Opera House, Bayerischer Staatsoper) under the direction of Claudio Abbado, Thomas Schippers, James Levine, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Peter Maag, Riccardo Chailly, Georges Prêtre and Alberto Zedda.
After finishing his singing career, Ernesto Palacio discovered numerous leading artists of the new generation of Belcanto and is considered one of the leading international experts of Rossini vocality. An appointment therefore from 14 to 18 June for this unmissable occasion dedicated to opera.
